This service involves development of the FPGA from specification to bit stream. CoreEL would engage with the customer for:

Feasibility analysis.
Requirements capture.
Architecture.
Verification methodology.
Implementation and validation of the design.
Verification hardware platform.

Functional and timing simulations are generally the acceptance methodologies followed. This service is particularly useful for product design houses that could outsource development of peripheral / glue logic FPGA development.

   

IP Development

  
  IP development forms an inherent part of CoreEL's design activity. IP developed could be a standard IP complying with one or more industry standards or it could be a custom block specific to the client's requirements.

Standards based IP blocks developed internally or for a client requirement help in demonstrating domain strengths and also adds value to customers by reducing their time to market. The IP developed follow the RMM and would comply with the VSIA recommendations enabling reusability of the IP.

  Custom IP
  Reusable blocks developed specifically to meet the client's requirements can be UARTs, HDLCs, proprietary bus interfaces etc. The service also includes customization of standard IP to meet specific deviations from the standards. The IP developed follow the RMM and would comply with the VSIA recommendations enabling reusability of the IP.
   
ASIC Prototyping on FPGA
  
 

Many customers prefer to prototype their ASIC designs on FPGAs before committing to ASICs. CoreEL's association with the client would start at the system architecture level in defining the expectations out of the FPGA prototype in terms of functionality, clock speeds, data rates etc. which could be realistically achieved.

This service typically includes:

Modification / optimization of the ASIC RTL for FPGA.
Implementation.
Test bench tuning.
Verification & equivalence checking.
Partitioning of the design into multiple FPGAs if required.
Floor planning.
Place and route.

The service also includes development of an evaluation board around the FPGAs or in some case uses an off-the-shelf FPGA prototyping board.
